Christian Maurer is a coach and trainer of sales leaders and sales professionals in improving the productivity of their B2B sales organizations. With assignments for market leaders such as Adva Optical, Dräger, FedEx, GFI, Mazars, Microsoft, PricewaterhouseCoopers, SAP, Schneider Electric, Trend Microsystems and T-Systems, Christian has developed an uncanny skill for helping companies improve B2B opportunity and account management through the design and implementation of customer-centric sales processes, sales forecasting and individual effectiveness programs for sales leaders. He creates business impact measured with leading indicators that improve the return on effort.
In addition to his consulting activities, Christian lectures on the topics of complex sales methods and international sales management in the MA program “Strategic Sales Management” at the ESB Business School at Reutlingen University, Germany. He is also a lecturer in the ME program “Leadership in Industrial Sales and Technology” at Aalen University, Germany, on the topics of structuring and leading international sales forces. Christian frequently speaks at various business schools in France and Switzerland and is a member of the Global Sales Science Institute.
Prior to becoming an independent sales consultant and principal with Mereo, Christian was practice manager with the TAS Group where he developed a new generation of account management methodology to be implemented as a software application and led the trainer workshops. Before, he served as business consulting director at Siebel Systems where he led CRM implementation effectiveness analysis projects as well as international roll-outs of CRM implementations in connections with sales methodologies. While with onTarget, he was a trainer for opportunity and account management methodologies.
Before focusing on the domain of sales effectiveness, Christian worked for 20 years with a global telecommunications equipment manufacturer headquartered in France. There he held various subsidiary-level management positions (COO, business development manager, project manager and product manager) as well as corporate/headquarter-level leadership (director strategic planning).
Christian holds an engineering diploma from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, Switzerland. He also has completed post graduate studies in systemic marketing at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. He is certified in various sales methodologies and programs from several firms. He is fluent in German (mother tongue), English and French.
